Happy Birthday Creative Boom

Creative Boom is two today.

For two years it has been bringing us news of and inspiration about all things creative. It’s an excellent site with much good stuff covering the whole country, whilst the regional focus allows you to home in on your local area and the directory lets you get yourself on there – there’s a basic free option and a more fully featured payed for super-dooper option.

You can find it at http://www.creativeboom.co.uk

The whole thing is run, voluntarily, by Katy Cowen who spends much of her free time writing ludicrously useful articles and tweeting all sorts of interesting things. She’s also a thoroughly nice lass.

All in all, Creative Boom is pretty damn good. And now it is two years old and bigger and better than ever.

I had to do something to celebrate the occasion – and this is it!

Happy Birthday Creative Boom! Keep up the good work Katy!

Black and shiny

A few weeks ago Creative Review requested creative interpretations of their CR logo for their facebook page.

Of course, I had to have a go and took the opportunity to experiment a little to see if I can come up with something new. New to me, at least.

Stretching, pulling, dropping, laying down and layering I managed to create something organic and unexpected.

The final piece reminds me of elements of sci fi sets of forboding alien ships.

The last image in the series is the coloured version that appeared on Creative Review’s facebook page.

I took the close-ups before I returned the gloop to its container and my CR was gone forever.
